This course was designed to showcase the very best of Saratoga Springs. Whether you're
chasing a personal best, running your first half marathon, or simply soaking in the experience,
every mile offers something unique. From historic landmarks and iconic horse racing
destinations to peaceful wooded trails and vibrant downtown streets, this course truly captures the spirit of Saratoga.
The Journey Begins
Race morning starts in the heart of Congress Park, where runners will be surrounded by one of Saratoga's most recognizable landmarks. The energy at the start line will be electric as runners set off through downtown streets lined with supporters ready to cheer them on.
Through the Heart of the City
Early miles guide runners through Saratoga's neighborhoods and community landmarks,
including the Saratoga Springs City Center, East Side Recreation Park, and the historic
Oklahoma Training Track. These sections provide a glimpse into the city's rich history while
offering fast, runnable roads to settle into your pace.
Racing History Around Every Corner
No visit to Saratoga would be complete without passing the legendary Saratoga Race Course.
As runners make their way alongside one of the most famous horse racing venues in the world, they'll also pass the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, celebrating the city's deep-rooted equestrian heritage. For many runners, this stretch becomes one of the most memorable photo opportunities on the entire course.
Into the Beauty of Saratoga Spa State Park
As the course leaves downtown behind, runners enter the scenic trails and roads of Saratoga
Spa State Park. Towering pines, gentle rolling terrain, and peaceful surroundings provide a
refreshing change of pace. Along the way you'll pass several of the park's most recognizable destinations, including:
-The Saratoga Automobile Museum
-Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC)
-Beautiful wooded trails and natural landscapes
This section offers a perfect balance of challenge and scenery that makes every mile enjoyable.
Back Toward Downtown
Leaving the park, runners return toward downtown Saratoga, passing local favorites including
the Saratoga Casino Hotel before making their way through the historic streets that make this
city so beloved.
The final miles bring runners through the charming Beekman Street Arts District, where
colorful storefronts, local businesses, and enthusiastic spectators create an unforgettable
atmosphere.
Soon after, runners pass more iconic Saratoga landmarks including:
-Historic Canfield Casino
-The beloved Congress Park Carousel
-The Saratoga Springs Visitor Center
